NDCF
produces events designed to raise awareness of our goals, involve
interested parties in cancer survivorship initiatives, and most
importantly, raise funds to support our vision.
This year’s event will be a
spirited occasion that you won’t want to miss. The Texas Bazaar gives us an
opportunity to combine an Indian heritage with a local Texas flavor. There will
be live music performed by Oliver Rajamani, a very well known Austin musician
who combines the best in Indian and Western rhythms. A buffet dinner will offer
food and delicacies fused with the flavors of our two lands, India and Texas.
And we’ll have both a silent and live auction in support of this special
cause….so get ready for some old-fashioned shopping.
The Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation
is a missionary of care and hope in impoverished areas of the Indian
Subcontinent, and its focus is on prevention via early detection and treatment
of the disease. Funds from the NDCF are used to equip and deploy “mobile
hospitals” in rural areas. This year the funds from the Texas Bazaar 2004
will be used to help pay for the expenses of a complete medical mobile unit to
be placed in Eastern India.
